COLLECTION OF COMPANY ANIMALS

The removal of pets only responds to requests made by the municipalities with an agreement and, for humanitarian reasons, by the Civil Guard-SEPRONA and Traffic patrols .

Calls from individuals are not answered.

Citizens who detect the presence of a domestic animal, presumably abandoned, must immediately inform the Local Police or the City Council, the entity responsible for addressing matters related to abandoned domestic animals.

How to act

Citizens residing in the councils covered by the agreement who want to request our intervention must contact their Council , or Local Police , who will then transfer the intervention order to the Society, directly.

The supposedly abandoned animals, once collected, remain in the custody of the Protective Society, housed in our Shelter, where they will receive the health care and food they need, pending their claim by the owner, or their possible adoption. after 10 calendar days from collection.

WITH THE PROTECTIVE SOCIETY OF LUGO

Since 1999, the Lugo Animal Protection Society has been signing collaboration/association agreements with various town councils around the Capital, in which it carries out the collection of abandoned pets , within each municipal area.

The removal of abandoned pets is only handled by the Society at the request of the Local Police or those responsible for the Town Hall where the pet is abandoned.

On the map that illustrates this information you can see those who, at this time, have entrusted us with the work of collecting and guarding abandoned animals in their municipal areas. Those that do not appear indicated on the Map, we understand that they have their own means to respond to the problem of abandonment in their municipal area, or that they have contracted them with third parties, as contemplated by the Law of the Xunta de Galicia.
